The Accounting Manager oversees day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly close activities, cash management, and financial reporting support. Reporting to the Controller, this role helps ensure accurate and timely accounting operations within a complex multi-entity structure that includes nonprofit and other for-profit entities.
This position is a hybrid of operational leadership and strategic partnership. You will manage core accounting processes, support staff oversight, and partner cross-functionally to strengthen financial operations. The role requires a hands-on approach to building efficient, reliable systems while navigating the nuances of mission-related investments and grant accounting. You will serve as a key guardian of internal controls, ensuring the organization's financial integrity while supporting its broader social impact goals.
This position is based in our downtown Denver office near Union Station and operates within a professional business setting. The role frequently involves computer-based work, including the use of voice and video conferencing tools. It requires extended periods of sitting, computer use, and virtual communication.

Familiarity with nonprofit accounting concepts, including grants and mission-related investments. Experience supervising accounting staff, vendors, or outsourced accounting support. Public accounting and/or multi-entity accounting experience. Experience supporting audits. Nonprofit and/or private foundation experience.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
