Accounting & Finance Director

About the Opportunity

Vaco by Highspring is partnering with a growing, private equity-backed manufacturing organization to find a Director of Accounting & Finance. This role is designed for a hands-on financial leader who thrives in operational environments and enjoys building structure, elevating teams, and partnering closely with plant leadership. As the organization evolves its finance structure, this leader will play a critical role in strengthening accounting discipline, enhancing operational reporting, and supporting leadership with actionable financial insights.

The position is fully onsite at a manufacturing or industrial facility, requiring a leader comfortable operating in a dynamic, operational setting. Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.

The Role

In this capacity, you will serve as a trusted finance partner to site leadership and corporate finance. You will lead day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for an assigned business unit or site, owning the monthly close process to ensure timely, accurate financial statements. Your work will involve partnering with Operations to support cost control, productivity, and profitability initiatives, as well as developing and managing annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.

Beyond technical execution, you will translate financial results into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders and establish and improve internal controls, policies, and financial processes. A key component of this role is building, mentoring, and overseeing a local finance/accounting team.
