About the Department

The Florida Department of Revenue's General Tax Administration program collects the revenue that maintains the state's infrastructure, funds schools, and protects the environment. We are committed to maintaining a diverse workforce and providing employment opportunities to veterans and individuals with disabilities.

About the Role

As an Accountant I within the Receivables Management Field Operations team, you will be an essential member of our West Palm Beach Service Center. Your primary mission is to accurately and timely process tax returns, documents, and payments while ensuring strict adherence to established procedures.

In this role, you will manage a petty cash account, maintain credit card files, and reconcile disbursements. Your day-to-day responsibilities include compiling information, generating and mailing notices, reconciling invoices, and preparing reports. Additionally, you will handle computer data input and manage the purchasing and reconciliation of supply orders, inventory, and travel receipts.

Hiring Process & Requirements

Candidates who meet the minimum job requirements may be required to take a skills verification test or an online skills assessment to be considered for an interview. All responses to qualifying questions must be verifiable by the skills and experiences stated on your candidate profile or resume.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Level-2 criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting. Male candidates born on or after October 1, 1962, must be registered with the Selective Services System (SSS) before their 26th birthday or possess a Letter of Registration Exemption to be eligible for hire.

Application & Accommodations

The State of Florida supports a drug-free workplace, and all employees are subject to reasonable suspicion drug testing. Veterans eligible for Veterans' Preference are encouraged to apply and must attach supporting documentation (such as DD Form 214) with their submission.

Candidates requiring a reasonable accommodation as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act must notify the agency hiring authority or the People First Service Center in advance to allow sufficient time for provision.

For questions regarding this position, please contact Lisa Watson at (850) 617-8410 or Lisa.Watson@floridarevenue.com.
