City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms, and the whole school, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education that prepares them with the skills and mindset to thrive and contribute to their community.
As a Student Success Coach and Mentor, you will serve as a City Year AmeriCorps Member, focusing on coaching and mentoring elementary, middle, and/or high school students. Your mission is to help students earn academic success, improve their attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school.
You will work closely with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way. While experience in these tasks is not necessary, you will receive 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you. Your day-to-day involves planning and monitoring individual student progress, working with teachers on whole-class instruction, and creating engaging, safe, and healthy classroom spaces.
