City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide comprehensive support to students, classrooms, and the entire school community. Our mission is to ensure that students receive a high-quality education that equips them with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
As a City Year AmeriCorps Member, you will serve as a student success coach and mentor for elementary, middle, and/or high school students. This is a paid, full-time position focused on coaching and mentoring to help students achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors.
You will work closely with partner teachers and school staff to plan and monitor individual student progress. Your day will involve collaborating on whole-class instruction, facilitating breakout spaces, and providing in-class student assistance. While experience in these specific tasks is not required, you will receive 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to prepare you for service. You will be supported every step of the way as you help students earn academic success and develop interpersonal skills through proven strategies of learning, practice, reflection, and repetition.
To apply, visit the City Year application portal at joincityyear.force.com and submit your completed application online. For additional information on the application process, please visit cityyear.org.
