City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide comprehensive support to students, classrooms, and the entire school community. Our mission is to ensure that students receive a high-quality education that equips them with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive and contribute to their communities.
As a City Year AmeriCorps Member, you will serve as a student success coach and mentor for elementary, middle, and/or high school students. This full-time, paid position focuses on coaching and mentoring to help students achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors.
You will not need prior experience in all these tasks; the program provides 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support your journey. Working alongside partner teachers and school staff, you will plan and monitor individual student progress, collaborate on whole-class instruction, and assist in breakout spaces. Your day-to-day involves creating an engaging, safe, and healthy classroom environment while supporting whole-school initiatives to increase engagement with students and families through extended day programming, homework support, and leadership development.
To apply, visit joincityyear.force.com and submit your completed application online. For additional information on the application process, please visit cityyear.org.
