About the Department and Role
The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a full-time clinical faculty member in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. This fully clinical role is based at Tampa General Hospital, a dynamic academic medical center that serves as a regional referral and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center.
The successful candidate will provide compassionate, evidence-based emergency care within the hospital's 10-bed Pediatric Emergency Department. Beyond direct patient care, this position is integral to the department's mission of excellence in education and clinical service. The physician will join a team dedicated to advancing pediatric emergency medicine while contributing to the academic environment of the university.

This role offers the opportunity to practice within a prestigious academic setting while serving as a medical staff member in good standing at the assigned hospital. The position involves a balanced commitment to clinical duties, teaching, research, and service. Faculty members are expected to represent the university, college, or department in various capacities and participate in the academic advising of students.
Qualifications and Culture
Candidates must hold a medical degree from an accredited institution and demonstrate a record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. For those appointed to the rank of Associate or Full Professor, a history of creative work, professional writing, or research in refereed journals is expected, establishing the candidate as a recognized authority in the field.
To ensure the highest standards of care, the candidate must be board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Additionally, they must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License (or foreign equivalent) and maintain credentials within the USF Health faculty practice plan. A commitment to the teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine is essential to the role.
