Contact Community Services in East Syracuse, NY, is seeking a skilled and empathetic 911 Diversion Specialist to join our dedicated team of emergency management professionals. In this crucial role, the specialist will work to ensure appropriate responses to emergency calls that involve mental health issues, aiming to divert non-violent, non-criminal calls to suitable community and health services. This position plays a vital role in our commitment to support individuals in crisis while optimizing community safety resources.
As a 911 Diversion Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for individuals facing mental health or social service crises. Your day will involve assessing incoming calls to identify non-emergency issues, coordinating with local law enforcement and social service agencies to redirect resources, and providing immediate crisis intervention guidance. You will advocate for the continuous improvement of our diversion program, using data and observed trends to suggest enhancements that better serve our community.
