About the Role
As a Certified Middle School Teacher at Southeast Middle School, you will serve as a vital guide in the academic and personal development of young learners. Under limited supervision, your mission is to plan and present engaging learning opportunities that contribute to the development of students' academic abilities. You will be responsible for creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and tailored to the maturity and interests of the student body.
In this role, you will design a comprehensive program of study that meets the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of your students. You may teach multiple disciplines as assigned, employing a variety of instructional techniques and media to ensure accessibility and engagement. Your day will involve guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for all lessons and projects, and communicating these expectations effectively to students.
Beyond the classroom, you will play a key role in the school community. You will maintain accurate records of student progress, assess accomplishments regularly, and provide necessary support to students with special needs. Building strong partnerships with families is essential; you will maintain positive relationships with parents, conduct conferences, and facilitate education workshops. Additionally, you will assist in implementing school policies, monitor student safety, and serve as an adviser to student organizations or staff committees as required.
Hiring Process
Applicants must possess a valid South Carolina teaching certificate or be eligible for one in the appropriate certified area. Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
