About the Role

As a Classroom Teacher at Harvey Dunn, you will be the architect of a positive learning environment where every student thrives. You will implement the district curriculum while adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, addressing various learning styles and sequencing content at an appropriate pace. Your day will be filled with meaningful interactions, from conducting ongoing assessments to facilitating cooperative groups and encouraging students to analyze and apply knowledge.

Beyond the classroom, you will serve as a vital link between home and school, communicating effectively with parents and students and conducting conferences in accordance with district policy. You will also actively participate in professional growth opportunities and community events, promoting the education profession and supporting district goals.

Important Certification Requirement: South Dakota Codified Law 13-42-71 requires certified educators to complete at least one hour of approved youth suicide awareness and prevention training every five years. Compliance is verified through district accreditation reviews. You will be required to provide your most recent certificate of completion prior to starting employment. Please review the list of approved trainings at doe.sd.gov before selecting a course, as unapproved trainings will require you to retake an approved course.
