As the Sanitation Team Leader, you will provide essential leadership to ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of our food manufacturing facility in Ontario. Your mission is to uphold the highest standards of food safety and regulatory compliance, including SQF codes, Good Manufacturing Practices, FSMA, CFIA regulations, and HACCP/HARPC. You will serve as the subject matter expert for sanitation, guiding the team through daily operations while maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for our products.
In this onsite, third-shift role, you will manage the sanitation department's labor and supply budgets, oversee inventory for cleaning chemicals and equipment, and collaborate closely with Ecolab representatives and plant microbiology teams. Your day-to-day involves developing training programs, conducting routine inspections using ATP programs and software tools like 3D Tracer and Redzone, and ensuring all sanitation equipment remains in optimal working condition. You will also evaluate and update the Master Sanitation Schedule to reflect changes in equipment and processes, acting as the primary representative for sanitation during scheduled audits.
This position requires working onsite in a food manufacturing setting, typically on an 8-12 hour third shift. The environment may involve exposure to adverse temperatures, vibrations, chemicals, fumes, and food allergens. Employees must be willing to wear personal protective equipment and may be required to work in confined spaces, dark areas, or at heights exceeding 18 feet. The role demands physical strength and dexterity to perform tasks such as climbing, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance.
