About the Role
We are seeking a 2nd Shift Mechanic's Assistant/Blaster to join our Shop Team. This position is designed to support the maintenance and restoration of turbomachinery components and assemblies, ensuring strict compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
In this role, you will be an essential part of the mechanical workflow, performing a variety of tasks ranging from basic shop cleanup to specialized surface treatments. Your day-to-day activities will include blasting, solvent cleaning, and painting rotating equipment parts. You will assist evening shift machinists with setups, move parts to and from machines, and handle logistical issues. The role also involves light mechanic work under supervision, fabricating fixturing and skids, and operating shop equipment such as balance machines, lathes, and mills. Additionally, you may be required to operate a truck and perform other duties as needed to keep the shop running smoothly.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this position will be required to participate in a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and a background check. The company may also conduct random or customer-specific screenings. A valid driver's license is required for this role.
