Dobbs Equipment is a leading provider of heavy equipment solutions, dedicated to keeping customer and company machinery running at peak performance. Our mission centers on delivering exceptional service and support to ensure operational continuity for our clients. As an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer, we are committed to fostering an environment free of discrimination and harassment, making hiring decisions based solely on qualifications and job performance.
We are seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be the frontline expert responsible for the repair, diagnosis, overhaul, and reconditioning of heavy equipment and components. Whether working in our service shop or responding to emergency calls, your work ensures that our customers' operations remain uninterrupted.
You will serve as a professional representative of the dealership, handling customer interactions with tact and objectivity while managing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. The role involves a dynamic day-to-day rhythm: diagnosing problems, performing detailed disassembly and inspections, and executing repairs using specialized tools and technical manuals. You will also play a key role in maintaining shop safety and order, mentoring helpers or trainees, and ensuring all service records and reports are accurately completed.
This position requires flexibility, as the nature of heavy equipment service often demands working beyond normal hours, including varying shifts, weekends, and holidays, to meet emergency or routine service needs. You may also occasionally travel for training purposes.
The role is primarily based in a service shop setting. You will regularly work in an environment exposed to changing temperatures, humidity, noise, vibration, fumes, and dust. Safety is paramount; you will be expected to wear personal protective equipment such as welding shields, hard hats, and safety glasses while operating near moving mechanical parts.
To apply, please submit your resume highlighting your experience with industrial equipment maintenance and your technical qualifications. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. We look for individuals who are self-motivated, strong problem-solvers, and eager to stay current with technical changes in the industry.
