About the Role
The 2nd Shift Custodian at Spartanburg School District Two plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of our school facilities. This position is essential for ensuring a welcoming and secure environment for students, staff, and the community after regular school hours.
In this role, you will work as part of a custodial crew to perform general cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance activities across school buildings, offices, and district grounds. Your day-to-day responsibilities include operating various cleaning and landscaping equipment, such as lawnmowers, blowers, buffers, and vacuums, to keep indoor and outdoor areas in top condition. You will also manage the inventory of janitorial supplies, inspect facilities for maintenance needs, and assist with moving furniture or performing minor repairs.
Working Environment
This position requires working both indoors and outdoors, often in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, humidity, and noise. The role involves moderate to heavy physical exertion, including lifting and moving objects up to 150 pounds, and frequent contact with cleaning agents.
