The primary goal of this position is to help students learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible learners. As a teacher at Forest Heights, you will guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals by establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects. Your role involves integrating skills into units and learning centers while employing a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet individual student needs and learning styles.
You will create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. This includes encouraging students to set and maintain standards for classroom behavior and developing reasonable rules to maintain a climate that is equitable, fair, and supportive. Beyond the classroom, you will work with parents to promote cooperation, understanding, and participation in the program, while also assuming responsibility for involving the community in decision-making relative to the development and implementation of programs at the building level.

This position is offered as a nine-and-one-fourth (9.25) month contract, totaling 190 days, and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Please note that precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and LRSD's salary placement guidelines. This role is classified as FLSA Exempt.
