About the Role
As a Primary/Elementary Classroom Teacher at Livingston ISD, you will serve as a vital catalyst for student growth, fostering intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. Your mission is to provide appropriate learning activities that help students fulfill their potential and develop the competencies needed to function successfully in society.
You will be expected to act with integrity, inspiring and motivating others while championing the needs of students and colleagues. This role requires a commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to drive results in alignment with the district's organizational goals.
The Day-to-Day
Your day involves developing and implementing lesson plans that reflect the district's curriculum and accommodate diverse learning styles. You will conduct ongoing assessments to gauge student achievement and collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Beyond the classroom, you will manage student behavior, maintain a safe and conducive learning environment, and serve as a positive role model.
Communication is key; you will maintain professional relationships with parents, students, and the community. You may also sponsor extracurricular activities and direct the work of instructional aides. As a member of the faculty, you will participate in staff development, attend meetings, and serve on committees to ensure compliance with state and district regulations.
