As an Elementary Education Teacher, you will establish and foster a positive classroom environment where students are given the opportunity to develop academically and socially. You will serve as a key partner in the district's mission, maintaining compliance with district policies and initiatives while supervising by the site administrator. Success in this role relies on building positive and professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and all stakeholders.
Your day-to-day involves instructing pupils in basic subject matter as specified by state law and district procedures. You will develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide individualized and small-group instruction, adapting the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each pupil. Beyond academics, you will monitor and evaluate student growth, make necessary adjustments, and communicate effectively with parents to discuss progress and interpret the school program. You will also collaborate with professional staff to identify pupil needs and provide interventions for health, social-emotional, and academic well-being.
The work environment is dynamic and varies significantly. You will regularly work in settings that may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and frequently work in high, precarious places or in outside weather conditions. The role involves working near moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, extreme heat, and potential risks of electrical shock and vibration. Noise levels in the work environment can range from somewhat loud to extremely loud.
To ensure continuity of services, a different work location may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation requiring the closing of school or office buildings. Eligibility for varied work locations is determined by the superintendent of schools, with specific expectations distributed by your supervisor.
