As a Paraprofessional at Black Elementary School within Mesquite ISD, you will serve as a vital support partner to special education teachers. Your primary mission is to ensure students with disabilities receive the physical and instructional care they need to thrive in a supportive learning environment. Working under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher, you will help implement classroom programs focused on self-help skills, behavior management, and individualized instruction.
Your day involves a dynamic blend of educational support and personal care. You will collaborate with teachers to prepare instructional materials and adapt lessons to meet each student's unique medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs. This role requires close attention to individual student needs, including assisting with transfers to and from wheelchairs, personal hygiene, feeding, and bathroom assistance. Beyond the classroom, you will supervise students during lunch, bus duty, and playground activities, ensuring safety and engagement throughout the school day.
Employment begins as soon as possible. Qualified candidates with a High School Diploma or GED and a Texas Educational Aide Certificate are encouraged to apply immediately to join our team.
