This position is dedicated to providing students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The role exists to enable students to develop the competencies and skills necessary to function successfully in society.
As an educator, you will serve as a positive role model, supporting the district's mission while fostering a classroom environment conducive to learning. Your day will involve developing and implementing lesson plans that reflect accommodations for diverse student learning styles, conducting ongoing assessments, and managing student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. You will work cooperatively with colleagues to modify curricula for students with special needs and maintain open communication with parents and the community.
Educators are expected to adhere to the Texas Educators' Code of Ethics, which provides rules for standard practices and ethical conduct toward students, professional colleagues, school officials, parents, and community members. This includes maintaining confidentiality, complying with state and federal laws, and ensuring the safety of students and facilities.
Success in this role requires daily attendance and punctuality, emotional control under stress, and the ability to work with frequent interruptions. Teachers are expected to stay informed of district and state regulations, participate in professional development opportunities, and serve on staff committees as required. The role may involve irregular hours, including holidays and weekends, and occasional travel for district-wide or statewide events.
