About the Role
IPTA is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator (Journeyman) to support the work at the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC). AvMC is the Army's focal point for providing research, development, and engineering technology and services for aviation and missile platforms across the life cycle. AvMC's mission is to "deliver collaborative and innovative aviation and missile capabilities for responsive and cost-effective research, development, and life cycle engineering solutions" to equip the Warfighter with the best technology today and tomorrow.
In this role, you will provide Tier III IT operations support for both classified and unclassified environments. You will operate and maintain Windows-based servers, ensuring service availability, performance, security, and compliance with AvMC and Army directives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Active Directory, Windows Server, endpoint management, and virtualization technologies, while also supporting cloud integrations and evolving enterprise service delivery models. This position requires a self-directed professional with a hunger to continually learn and grow, capable of solving challenging business problems with a passion for technology.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleOperate and monitor physical and virtual infrastructure including Hyper-V and VMware platforms
- check_circleSupport backup and restore processes in alignment with Recovery Time and Point Objectives
- check_circleMaintain documentation of server configurations, rack layouts, cabling, power requirements, and capacity planning
- check_circleContinuously monitor Windows servers, desktops, and virtualization platforms for availability, health, and performance
- check_circleTrack and report on capacity utilization, resource consumption, and licensing compliance
- check_circleMaintain operational records including maintenance logs, backup validation history, and asset inventories
- check_circleMaintain and update the Configuration Management Database to track servers, desktops, and dependencies
- check_circleSubmit all changes via the approved change management system in accordance with the Change Control Review process
Requirements
