Key Responsibilities
- check_circleMarket hydraulic department services to new and existing clients
- check_circleManage hydraulic workload, staff, and project schedules
- check_circleManage hydrologic and hydraulic modeling in HEC-RAS for bridges and culverts
- check_circleOversee hydraulic analyses and report generation
- check_circleOversee project scoping, fee development, contract negotiations, and execution
- check_circleAttend public meetings and presentations as needed
- check_circleAssist with project pursuits by providing technical expertise on proposals
- check_circleLead hydraulic design of stream crossings, drainage systems, and erosion control
- check_circleManage preparation of MOA, CLOMR, and LOMR packages
- check_circleTrain support staff and review their work
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
- verifiedMinimum of 10 years of progressive hydraulic design experience
- verifiedPE license in NC or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment
- verifiedAdvanced knowledge of HEC-RAS and FEMA requirements
- verifiedExperience in drainage design, stormwater management, and erosion control
- verifiedKnowledge of NCDOT design standards and project development workflow
- verifiedExperience with Microstation, Geopak, Geopak Drainage, and Open Roads Designer
- verifiedSCM design experience
- verifiedStream restoration experience
- verifiedCFM Certification
- verifiedFloodplain mapping experience
Nice to Have
Experience with Microstation, Geopak, Geopak Drainage, and Open Roads Designer. SCM design experience. Stream restoration experience. CFM Certification. Floodplain mapping experience. NCDOT, SCDOT and VDOT design experience.
