About the Role
In this role, you will act as an owner's engineer and primary technical lead to drive the development and implementation of the civil and structural discipline for hyperscale data centers. With your technical expertise, you will ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements, and serve as an expert in your specialty.
You will lead the review and validation of civil and structural designs, critically auditing program drawings, data center site plans, and typical utility layouts produced by external consultants. You will take ownership of programmatic template designs and drive improvements to structural and civil design standards. This role requires broad cross-disciplinary expertise to seamlessly coordinate with Geotechnical, Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural, Systems, and Telecom teams, ensuring all designs are continuously optimized for cost, schedule, and reliability.

Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- verifiedLicensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- verified3 years of experience in civil site development and structural design for industrial projects
- verified3 years of experience auditing, interpreting, validating structural calculations, civil site plans, and geotechnical reports
- verified3 years of experience in both civil and structural disciplines
- verified3 years of experience with engineering code interpretation and structural/civil analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS) and civil design tools (AUTOCAD, Civil 3D, Hydrocad)
Nice to Have
Master's degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, or similar. Experience working as an owner's engineer or lead design engineer in mission-critical facilities such as data centers, oil and gas, or similar heavy industrial sectors. Enclosure design and manufacturing experience (e.g. switchgear enclosures). Knowledge of international building codes (e.g. IBC, Eurocode) alongside local municipal regulations to ensure design compliance. Ability to draft technical scopes of work, managing external engineering consultants, and evaluating technical proposals.
