This position is designed to support Ryder's Continuous Improvement culture across the operation. The Engineer will actively apply continuous improvement methods to support both new and existing operations, identifying and driving change through data-driven CI, engineering, and automation efforts. The goal is to deliver higher levels of performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
You will interface with employees at all levels and functions across the operation, reporting to the Lead Engineer, CI Manager, or Sr. CI Manager while remaining closely aligned with Operations Management. This role is critical for enabling root cause identification and elimination by effectively leveraging data analytics, engineering methodologies, and advanced lean tools.
We are looking for a self-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will need strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain professional relationships with peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors. The ideal candidate is highly organized, capable of multi-tasking, and possesses excellent time management skills. You must be able to work independently as well as lead or contribute effectively as a member of a team.

Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and database programming (SQL, DAX, etc.) at an intermediate level. Functional experience with Warehouse design tools such as CAD (e.g. AutoCAD), slotting (e.g. Slot3D), Predetermined Motion and Time Systems (e.g. MOST), Warehouse Management Systems (e.g. Manhattan Scale), and Labor Management Systems. Knowledge of Warehouse Management operations, data analytics, Industrial Engineering, warehouse types, layout/design, Lean methods, material handling solutions, and automation types (e.g., AS/RS). Knowledge of Dedicated Services, Managed Transportation Networks, transportation design tools (JDA, Appian), network design tools (Llamasoft), Transportation Management Systems (JDA, OTM), and mapping software (Tableau). Lean Six Sigma, cPMP, ISO/QMS certifications. American Production Inventory Control Society (APICS) and/or Supply Chain Logistics Certification.
