About the Role
The Janitor plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, sanitation, and orderliness of our facilities, including office spaces, break rooms, restrooms, warehouse areas, docks, and grounds. This position ensures that all work environments remain clean and compliant with safety standards, supporting a productive and secure workplace for everyone.
Day-to-Day Impact
In this role, you will perform essential cleaning duties such as shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. You will be responsible for routine maintenance, clearing debris from grounds, and managing seasonal tasks like ice and snow removal from walkways and parking lots. The role may also involve washing the interiors of trailers and railcars, as well as monitoring pest control systems and reporting any issues to management.
Safety is a top priority. You will work in compliance with OSHA standards and company safety procedures, reporting hazards to the shift supervisor immediately. The position requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, operate cleaning equipment like steamers and floor scrubbers, and understand the safe use of cleaning chemicals. You will also need to interact effectively with co-workers and supervisors, demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to resolve routine problems independently.
Hiring Process
