About the Role
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and servicing the facility's building areas to maintain an orderly, sanitary, and attractive environment. Working under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor, the role involves a variety of duties designed to support a positive atmosphere for residents.
Responsibilities Overview
The position requires thorough and consistent performance of daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, stripping, washing, and shampooing floor surfaces. The Housekeeper also cleans and dusts furniture, closets, telephone areas, and vents, as well as scours, polishes, and sanitizes sinks, counters, stainless steel surfaces, and waste receptacles.
Additional duties include emptying waste receptacles, cleaning solid waste containers, and transporting medical waste to the outside storeroom as directed. The role also involves using room deodorizers as necessary, ensuring paper supplies are always available, and washing windows and walls, which may include removing draperies and rugs. The Housekeeper must gather and return cleaning supplies and equipment daily to support rooms and strictly follow OSHA Standards for handling infectious waste.
