The Store Attendant B serves as a vital link within the Material Services organization, ensuring the accurate accountability, storage, and movement of inventory across laydown yards and storerooms. This 12-month contract role is designed for a motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment where safety is the #1 priority. The position supports the logistics of shipping and relocating materials, ranging from standard inventory to hazardous substances like gasoline and lead-acid batteries, all while adhering to strict safety and environmental procedures.
Your day will be a blend of indoor and outdoor work, often in varying weather conditions. You will be responsible for receiving materials, performing visual inspections for damage, and processing related records. A significant portion of the role involves operating material handling equipment, such as motorized forklifts, telehandlers, and wheel loaders, to move heavy and awkwardly shaped items. You will also manage inventory levels through cycle counts, prepare materials for shipment, and maintain organized storage yards. While the role requires independent work, you will progress from a training phase to performing duties with semi-direct supervision, constantly balancing physical demands with precise record-keeping.
Candidates must be prepared for a Physical Ability Test (PAT) and a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. If a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for the specific territory, successful candidates must obtain it within six months of starting. Please note that contract workers may be asked to relocate temporarily or permanently within a specific territory; this should be considered when accepting an offer.
