The Warehouse Associate is a vital part of our operations team, supporting the company's warehouse activities under the supervision of office management and project associates. This role ensures the smooth flow of materials, equipment, and inventory through the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.
In this position, you will be responsible for the end-to-end handling of goods, from receiving and storing to issuing materials based on incoming requisitions. You will maintain accurate records and reports regarding inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, and expenditures. The role also involves inspecting stock for wear or defects, verifying inventory computations against physical counts, and determining proper storage methods based on turnover and environmental factors.
Your daily work will involve scanning and tracking incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as packing and unpacking items for shelving. You will utilize material handling equipment, such as forklifts, to move goods and ensure they are labeled correctly using identification tags or marking tools. A key part of your day includes cleaning and maintaining supplies, tools, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
You will also serve as a resource for internal users and customers, advising them on the appropriateness of requested parts and supplies. This role requires collaboration with engineering, purchasing personnel, and vendors regarding stock procurement. Additionally, you may be tasked with preparing products and equipment for use by adjusting, repairing, or assembling them as necessary.
This position demands a high level of physical activity. You must be capable of climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, tugging, stooping, bending, twisting, and crawling. The role requires manual dexterity for repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers, as well as the ability to pick and pinch materials. A safety-minded approach is essential to maintain composure in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment. Crucially, applicants must be certified to operate a forklift or have the ability to obtain certification before starting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory tracking software is required, along with a GED or High School equivalent and at least one year of warehouse experience, preferably in telecommunications.
