About the Role
We are seeking a natural-born leader to serve as the VP of Underwriting Management for our Commercial Contract Surety division in Arlington, VA. This highly visible leadership role is designed to drive the growth of a profitable and sustainable book of business while maintaining the highest standards of industry best practices.
In this position, you will supervise a team of senior underwriters, managing the full spectrum of underwriting activities for Commercial Surety classes including License and Permit Bonds, Mortgage Broker Bonds, Liquor Bonds, Utility Bonds, Warehouse Bonds, Auctioneer Bonds, Lottery Bonds, Fuel Tax Bonds, and Auto Dealer Bonds. You will own the P&L, marketing, operations, and team leadership, ensuring the team adheres to internal underwriting guides, rates, and forms.
Your day-to-day will involve direct interaction with the company president and executive board, meeting with executive leadership at key events, and engaging directly with customer leadership. You will lead tactical and strategic planning to grow market influence, create new policy forms, and generate innovative marketing approaches to develop new customer relationships.
