Internal Audit's primary mission is to provide assurance to the Board of Directors and Executive Management that BlackRock's businesses are well managed and meeting strategic, operational, and risk management objectives. The team engages with senior leaders and all of BlackRock's individual business units globally to understand and advise on the risks in their business, evaluate the effectiveness of key processes, and assist in the design of best practices that can improve their results. Internal Audit reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, and our work builds confidence that BlackRock will meet its obligations to clients, shareholders, employees, and other stakeholders.
The Business Audit Team, with presence in the US, Europe, and Asia, performs audits covering all BlackRock business units, including investment management, risk management, operations, finance, legal, compliance, and client businesses.
This position serves as a key liaison between Internal Audit and the firm's business units. You will lead the execution of global, regional, and integrated audits, managing the entire audit lifecycle from risk assessment and scope determination to test work and report writing. Beyond traditional auditing, you will provide advisory services during the development of new businesses and systems, and contribute insight to the formation of the annual audit plan based on current business, industry, and regulatory risk factors.
The role involves significant relationship management, acting as the primary engagement liaison for one or more lines of business. You will interact with regulatory examiners upon request, identify emerging firm-wide risks, and lead or contribute to global departmental projects. People management responsibilities include coaching and providing feedback to audit staff. Success in this role requires the ability to articulate complex subject matters succinctly and maintain healthy skepticism while fostering effective working relationships with peers and business partners.
Based at BlackRock's global headquarters at 50 Hudson Yards in New York City, this role offers access to state-of-the-art facilities, including amenity spaces, private sky lobbies, and Hudson River views. The building provides direct access to the No. 7 Subway station and is located two blocks from Penn Station.
