Happy people. Healthy pets.
At CityVet, we believe healthy pets start with happy people. It is important that our vet-led clinics are filled with smiling faces and compassionate pet people, and each of our employees play a vital role in creating the positive vibe felt at our offices. Starting a career at CityVet means growing in a fun, people-first environment where the future of our employees is just as important as the future of our business.
We are looking for the right person to join our team as a Veterinary Technician. A Veterinary Technician Assistant will be considered with a minimum of 1-year experience. The role is designed to maintain excellent patient care and operational productivity by helping the Veterinarian leverage their time and efforts to meet the needs of their clients and patients. You will work to relieve the Veterinarian from technical work and administrative detail to achieve greater levels of efficiency in daily practice, facilitating and streamlining communication from the operating room to the front office staff and, most importantly, the client.
Your day will involve assisting Veterinarians by prepping patients for surgery, administering anesthesia, taking x-rays, and gathering lab specimens. You will monitor patients post-op, restrain animals during exams, and obtain samples such as stool and blood for testing. You will also test these samples, help interpret results, and administer accurate dosages of prescribed medications, vaccines, or other treatments indicated by the DVM. Additionally, you will obtain medical information from clients and provide proper instructions on how to care for the animal under the veterinarian’s plan of care, while assisting the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
At CityVet, we put an added focus on the well-being of our staff members because caring for people and their pets is no easy task. We prioritize meeting the full range of physical and mental well-being needs of our people. In addition to standard benefits, our full-time employees receive generous pet-care discounts, a uniform allowance, flexible schedules, and growth opportunities.
