About the Role
The Animal Clinic of Muskegon is seeking a Veterinary Extern to gain hands-on experience in a progressive small animal practice. This role is designed to bridge academic learning with real-world application, offering a supportive environment where clinical growth is prioritized.
Under the direct supervision of our veterinarians, you will immerse yourself in the daily rhythm of a busy clinic. Your day will involve assisting with wellness exams, diagnostics, and treatments, while gaining exposure to a wide variety of medical and surgical cases. From anesthesia monitoring and recovery care to emergency and urgent care support, you will participate in the full spectrum of veterinary medicine.
Beyond clinical skills, this position emphasizes the human-animal bond. You will have the opportunity to learn best practices in client communication, educating pet owners on preventive care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions.
