About the Role
Student Media at the University of Utah seeks a student to serve as Platform Manager of The Daily Utah Chronicle, the independent student voice of the university since 1890. This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the marketing, audience engagement, distribution, and business development of the newspaper to ensure its continued success and growth.
The Platform Manager reports to the Student Media Adviser and works closely with the newspaper's editorial board. You will act as a bridge between the editorial vision and the operational needs of the platform, contributing input on publication goals and participating in regular reviews of progress. Your day-to-day involves ensuring the seamless delivery of both print and digital editions, analyzing audience data to inform content strategy, and driving growth through innovative marketing and engagement initiatives.
This role does not involve editorial review; content quality remains the responsibility of the appropriate content leadership. Instead, you will focus on the infrastructure that allows the newsroom to thrive, from maintaining distribution racks and website functionality to coordinating advertising opportunities and fundraising campaigns.
