About the Department
The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is growing rapidly, anchored in New York's historic capital city. As the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in the Capital Region, the department is home to a Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center and the region's only children's hospital. The department consists of 14 highly collaborative urology faculty members, supported by an outstanding residency program with fellowship-trained faculty in every subspecialty.
About the Role
We are recruiting physicians in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) with a strong interest in scholarly activity. You will join established URPS specialists alongside a team of dedicated advanced practice providers, nursing, and administrative support. Your practice will be fully supported in all other aspects of Urology, allowing you to focus on your specialized field.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment. Collaborations extend to pain management, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, colorectal surgery, GI, PMR, and pelvic floor physical therapy. You will have access to a world-class pelvic pain clinic featuring Neurology and Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Gynecology, as well as excellent clinical facilities with in-office ultrasound, fluoro-urodynamics, cystoscopy, and MR prostate biopsy capabilities. The department is immediately adjacent to an outpatient surgery center in the same building, ensuring easy patient access and free parking.
Scholarly activity is a core component of this position. The department facilitates multiple opportunities for clinical and basic research, supported by four in-house clinical research staff who assist with the IRB process and participant interactions. You will also have regular interactions with students and residents, whose rotations are highly rated and valued by our faculty.
