The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is growing rapidly, anchored in New York's historic capital city. As the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in the Capital Region, the department is home to 14 highly collaborative urology faculty members. The department supports an outstanding urology residency program with fellowship-trained faculty in every subspecialty and maintains regular, highly rated student interactions.
We are recruiting physicians in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) with a strong interest in scholarly activity. You will join established URPS specialists alongside a team of dedicated advanced practice providers, nursing, and administrative support. Your practice will be fully supported in all other aspects of Urology.
The role offers a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment. Collaborations span pain management, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, colorectal surgery, GI, PMR, and pelvic floor physical therapy. You will have access to a world-class pelvic pain clinic featuring Neurology and Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Gynecology, as well as excellent clinical facilities with in-office ultrasound, fluoro-urodynamics, cystoscopy, and MR prostate biopsy capabilities. The department is immediately adjacent to an outpatient surgery center in the same building, ensuring easy patient access and free parking.
Scholarly activity is a core component of this position. The department facilitates multiple opportunities for clinical and basic research, supported by four in-house clinical research staff to assist with the IRB process and participant interactions. Additionally, the department supports student and resident research rotations.
