At Quad Prep, we are on a mission to transform the lives of neurodiverse, twice-exceptional people by redefining the experience of school. As a New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) Accredited school entering our 14th year, we empower students to engage with the exciting and wonderful diversity of this world through the collective, collaborative, and empathic work of our teachers and clinicians.
We are an innovative community where colleagues are inspiring, consummate innovators who collaborate to create personalized solutions for each student. Our culture is built on being groundbreaking, collaborative, trustworthy, and constantly learning. We believe in the ethos of "not if, but how," ensuring that we never give up on each other or our students.
We are seeking an Upper School Computer Science Special Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year to join our team of innovators. In this role, you will teach grades 6-12, delivering a wide range of secondary computer science courses. Your classroom will be an intimate environment of no more than ten students, with some classes taught one-to-one or in dyads.
Beyond academic instruction, you will provide essential social-emotional support to students in close collaboration with our clinicians. You will help create new, evidence-based best practices in this rapidly evolving field, setting high expectations while discovering ways to meet them. This position offers a unique opportunity to receive mentorship and coaching from clinicians, veteran special education teachers, and academic administrators, allowing you to deepen your professional skills in working with twice-exceptional youth.
Quad Prep offers a supportive environment designed for work-life balance and professional growth. Our staff enjoy a ten-month school year with an average of 33 days off, generous preparation periods throughout the week, and midday dismissals on Fridays for team planning. We provide comprehensive benefits including health coverage, retirement contributions, student loan repayment, and a full tuition waiver for our annual Certificate Program in Meeting the Needs of Twice-Exceptional Students.
Additionally, staff members have the unique opportunity to build a private practice or tutor non-Quad Prep students onsite during after-school hours at reduced rates. We are committed to building a joyful and inclusive culture where everybody is celebrated for who they are, and we guarantee that you will learn something eye-opening every single day from our students.
To apply, please indicate any preferences for specific grade levels or content areas within the computer science realm in your cover letter. We invite you to connect with us to learn more about our mission and community.
