Truss Designer

About the Role

As a Truss Designer at Carter Lumber, you play a critical role in the production of roof and floor trusses. Your primary mission is to translate customer blueprints into accurate, timely, and production-ready design illustrations. This position requires a deep understanding of construction concepts and a strong alignment with the company's goals to deliver high-quality engineered wood products.

Day in the Life

Your work centers on analyzing specifications, blueprints, and engineered drawings to determine the factors affecting the design of wall, truss, and engineered wood components. You will create design illustrations that serve as the foundation for fabrication, ensuring all designs meet strict standards before finalizing them for production and assembly.

Collaboration is key to your success. You will act as a vital link between the design team, production staff, and customers. This involves communicating with Store Managers and production teams to ensure design accuracy throughout the entire process, while also assisting stores in addressing customer questions and concerns.
