About the Role
As a Full-time Local Class A CDL Truck Driver, you will join a team of professionals committed to delivering products safely and on time. In this role, you will drive late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks equipped with best-in-class specs designed for comfort, including inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras to ensure safety. Your primary mission is to deliver produce items to local grocery stores, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.
When you drive for Penske, you are representing both the company and your clients. You will likely be driving branded trucks and wearing client uniforms, building relationships with your accounts while delivering incredible customer service. This position offers a stable, nationwide career path with clear communication, great management, and a fantastic safety record. With locations across the nation, you also have the opportunity to move to a new city as your career grows.
Day in the Life
You will operate on a five-day work week with two consecutive days off per week. Dispatch typically occurs between 12 am and 5 am, allowing for a home-daily schedule. You will be on the move with Penske, utilizing tons of training opportunities to fuel your career. The role requires regular, predictable, full attendance and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
Hiring Process
To join the team, you must complete the Penske employment application and submit to a background investigation, which includes past employment, education, and criminal history, as well as a drug screening. This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation and designated as safety-sensitive, requiring compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
