The Team Leader, Food and Nutrition Services leads and supervises Food and Nutrition Service activities and the work of food servers, dish machine operators, food handlers, cashiers, caterers, and clinical aides. This role ensures that all essential tray line, cafeteria, patient service, and sanitation positions are covered with properly trained personnel. The Team Leader acts as a vital link in maintaining high standards of food safety, service quality, and operational efficiency within the department.
In this position, you will monitor the performance of staff, correct problems as they arise, and make recommendations for corrective actions when necessary. You will ensure that all serving equipment is functioning properly, food temperatures comply with department standards, and stations are adequately stocked to complete meal services. A key part of your day involves monitoring the entire meal service to ensure food is served properly, attractively, and delivered in a timely fashion, while also verifying that all tray line and cafeteria stations are cleaned and sanitized before breaks and at the end of shifts.
