Join the Labor & Delivery (LDRP) team at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, AK, as a Certified Surgical Tech. This role is critical to supporting high-acuity obstetric and surgical procedures, including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&E, D&C, tubal ligations, vaginal repairs, and hysterectomies.
You will work within a dedicated unit featuring 7 beds with variable patient ratios based on acuity. The team operates with a collaborative staffing model consisting of 2 RNs and 1 Surgical Tech, supported by unit secretaries. The unit utilizes GE equipment and the EPIC documentation system.
This is a contract position starting June 16, 2026, for a duration of 13 weeks (with a potential for extension up to 91 weeks). You will work a night shift schedule (19:00–07:30), covering 3 days per week for 12-hour shifts. While the primary focus is the LDRP unit, you may be floated as needed during periods of low census.
The team is equipped with modern technology and supported by experienced staff. Scrubs are provided for all team members. This position requires a deep understanding of the labor and delivery setting and the ability to perform advanced skills, specifically Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) procedures.
To be successful in this role, you must hold current certifications as a Certified Surgical Tech, BLS, and NRP. Candidates should possess specific knowledge and experience working within a labor and delivery setting. Onboarding will require the completion of a Core Exam (Allied/Non-Nursing) and the Surgical Technologist Skills Checklist.
