We are seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position at a prestigious Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. This facility is a certified stroke center affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, the University of Virginia, and Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, recognized for nursing excellence for over 20 years.
You will join a large, Magnet-designated unit caring for an adult acute care patient population, including cases involving elective back surgeries, trauma, prostate cancer, gallbladder procedures, and cellulitis. The role involves managing a patient ratio of 1:6 on a day shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts). While the primary focus is the Med Surg unit, floating within your skillset is required, and you may occasionally be called upon to work in a charge nurse or preceptor capacity.
