About the Role
We are seeking a Surgery Nurse Manager to lead and shape a comprehensive Surgical Services department in Bethel, Alaska. This is a unique, mission-driven opportunity to serve an underserved community through a Temporary Duty (TDY) contract.
In this role, you will direct all operations within the Surgical Services Department, including the Operating Room, Outpatient Surgical Services, Anesthesia, and PACU. You will coordinate visiting specialists, oversee fiscal and human resource management, and enforce standards for quality and safe patient care. This position offers meaningful leadership experience overseeing a multidisciplinary team of nurses, anesthesia staff, and OR support staff, with the chance to foster a Culture of Safety and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- verifiedCompleted program of education in nursing from an NLN-approved institution
- verifiedCurrent licensure in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska

- verifiedMinimum of 2 years of surgical services management experience
- verifiedCurrent BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- verifiedKnowledge of AORN Guidelines and Perioperative Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice
Nice to Have
BSN, MSN, or Master's degree in a healthcare or Business Administration-related field. Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) certification. Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) certification. Experience with electronic health record systems, specifically Cerner. Knowledge of budgets, reimbursements, coding, claims processing, and fiscal management.
