About the Assignment

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position in Las Cruces, NM. This 13-week contract is based at a Level IV trauma, Joint Commission Accredited hospital. The facility provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative inpatient and outpatient care across a spectrum of services.

In this role, you will work in the Tele Med/Surg unit caring for a patient population across all age groups. The position involves a 1:6 patient ratio and requires charting via the Meditech EMR. You will work a 12-hour night shift schedule (7:30 PM – 7:30 AM), three times a week for 36 hours total. The role includes an every-other-weekend requirement, with additional weekend hours as needed, and requires on-call availability on an as-needed basis. Floating to other Med/Surg units is also required as needed.

Hiring and Onboarding

Orientation is held weekly on Mondays. All clinical staff on assignment in New Mexico must be fingerprinted prior to start; travelers may begin on a 14-day waiver while results are pending but must be supervised during that time. Candidates must reside 60+ miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates. Please note that candidates who have worked permanently at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible, nor are candidates currently employed full-time elsewhere.

Any color scrubs are acceptable; no casual wear is permitted.
