This is a travel Registered Nurse assignment based in Hilo, Hawaii, within an inpatient medical-surgical setting. You will provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to adults across medical and surgical units. The role involves administering prescribed medications and treatments, monitoring patient responses, and documenting care in the Meditech EMR.
A key aspect of this position is the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will float between the Medical Unit and the Laulima Unit, with occasional assignments in cardiovascular care. You will collaborate closely with physicians, case managers, and support staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow and effective discharge planning. The role requires maintaining patient safety and comfort, assisting with device management (such as wound vacs and chest tubes), and adhering to strict infection control and professional standards.
You will work a 3x12 night shift schedule (1845–0715). Before your start date, you will arrive on the Thursday prior to complete employee health processing and participate in unit-specific orientation and onboarding. Throughout your 13-week contract, you will engage in ongoing training as requested and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans.
