You will serve as a critical support nurse in the Emergency Department, specifically caring for patients waiting for inpatient bed placement. The unit primarily handles Medical/Surgical and Telemetry patients, with a focus on managing a higher volume of telemetry cases compared to general medical patients. While you will not be the primary RN for acute ED assignments, you will assist with vitals, IV starts, and medication administration as needed.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone according to physician orders and parameters. A strong background in cardiac telemetry is essential, as you will be responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips independently without the support of a monitor tech. You must be prepared to float to Med/Surg, Tele, overflow units, and other ED locations as required.
This is a travel assignment with a 12-hour night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). The rotation consists of 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week cycle. You are required to work 2 of the 4 major holidays, with specific facility holidays including November 26, 2026, December 25, 2026, and January 1, 2027. While the schedule allows for self-scheduling, this flexibility may change. No on-call requirements are associated with this position.
Candidates must be located more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for submission. The application process requires a detailed resume where every employment history entry includes specific duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level, patient ratios, and teaching facility status. You must provide at least one reference from the same unit or specialty as the job, with one reference from a Charge or Lead role within the last 12 months.
Interviews may not be conducted prior to the offer. Upon receiving an offer, travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam via Relias within 48 hours (maximum 2 attempts) and complete a pass/fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation. Pre-employment modules and health document uploads are required to expedite onboarding. Any employment gaps exceeding 30 days must be explained in your application.
Trusted is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of background.
