You will be joining a large, Magnet-designated acute care teaching hospital that serves as the regional Level I Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients. This high-acuity environment offers advanced specialty care, providing broad clinical exposure across Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical units.
As a Registered Nurse in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown Float pool, you will provide stepdown-level nursing care in a dynamic setting. Your day will involve floating between PCU and Medical-Surgical units, with staffing needs re-evaluated every four hours. You must be comfortable managing all PCU and MS units, handling higher-acuity patient ratios, and responding to emergencies as part of Rapid Response and Code teams.
The role requires proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and titrating cardiac drips. You will manage complex patient needs including IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, PCA and heparin protocols, and IV insulin. Additionally, you will provide central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support, including CPAP/BiPAP and chest tube management.
