About the Role
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a dedicated Travel OR RN to join our nationwide network of healthcare professionals. In this role, you will provide high-quality perioperative care in diverse surgical settings, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams. You will be the backbone of the operating room, assessing patients, circulating and scrubbing, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

You will adapt quickly to new facilities, workflows, and policies across travel assignments while maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice. From comprehensive preoperative assessments to postoperative hand-offs, you will advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the entire perioperative continuum.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide comprehensive preoperative nursing assessment, patient education, and preparation for surgical procedures
- check_circleFunction as circulating or scrub nurse during operative procedures while maintaining sterile technique
- check_circleAdminister medications, manage IVs, and monitor patient responses according to provider orders
- check_circleAdvocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative continuum including positioning and infection prevention
- check_circlePerform and document accurate surgical counts, equipment checks, and safety verifications according to policy
- check_circleCollaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to coordinate efficient patient-centered care
- check_circleDocument assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
- check_circleParticipate in postoperative hand-offs and communicate critical information to PACU or receiving units
- check_circleAdapt quickly to new facilities, workflows, and policies across travel assignments while maintaining clinical standards
- check_circleParticipate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and adherence to regulatory and accreditation requirements
Requirements
- verifiedActive, unrestricted RN license in applicable state(s)
- verifiedGraduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN; BSN preferred)
- verifiedBLS certification
- verifiedACLS preferred or required by many facilities
- verifiedCNOR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- verifiedMinimum 2 years recent OR/Perioperative RN experience
- verifiedExperience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
- verifiedAbility to obtain additional state compact or single-state RN licenses as needed
Nice to Have
BSN degree, ACLS certification, CNOR certification, experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
