About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in New York, NY. This role is designed for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment. You will be the cornerstone of patient-centered care, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest clinical standards are met.
The Role
In this 13-week contract, you will deliver comprehensive care to patients requiring acute monitoring. Your day will involve performing detailed patient assessments, administering medications and treatments per physician orders, and monitoring vitals, pain levels, and clinical changes. You will play a vital role in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient mobility while maintaining accurate documentation in EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
Beyond clinical duties, you will educate patients and their families on care plans and discharge instructions, ensuring a smooth transition of care. Success in this team-based setting requires adaptability, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously while adhering to strict infection control and safety protocols.

Requirements

Experience in hospital or clinical setting. ACLS certification.
