About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in New York, NY. This role is designed for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment. You will be the cornerstone of patient-centered care, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest clinical standards are met daily.
The Role
In this 13-week contract, you will manage a dynamic caseload of patients requiring acute monitoring and specialized care. Your day will involve performing comprehensive patient assessments, administering medications and treatments per physician orders, and monitoring vitals and pain levels to report any clinical changes immediately. You will also play a vital role in patient education, guiding families through care plans and discharge instructions while maintaining accurate documentation in EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
This position requires strong clinical judgment and adaptability. You will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient mobility, ensuring safety and comfort while adhering to strict infection control protocols. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple patients simultaneously and possesses a deep understanding of telemetry and IV therapy.

Requirements
