About the Role
This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse (RN) within the Neurology department at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. The unit is a Med/Surg Telemetry Certified Stroke Center and a Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). While the primary focus is on patients with neuro-related diagnoses, the unit also functions as a telemetry overflow for other patient populations, offering nurses the chance to practice a diverse range of skills beyond neurology.
The role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including CVA, epilepsy, ischemic stroke, seizures, and spinal cord injuries. The team provides interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, and Rapid Response Teams. Nurses will utilize specialized equipment for continuous EEG monitoring and telemetry, managing complex care needs such as central lines, chest tubes, and post-neurosurgical recovery.
Hiring Process & Application
To apply, candidates must submit a valid Maryland or Compact license, references, and copies of certifications. A Basic EKG exam (provided by the agency via Prophecy Relias) must be successfully completed prior to orientation. Candidates must have at least two years of experience, with previous charge experience preferred.
The interview and onboarding process includes a 40-hour orientation. Annual compliance modules are completed virtually on the first day of the contract, with specific time requirements varying by specialty (e.g., 115 minutes for TELE RNs). Please note that no RTO (Resume/Training Offer) will be accepted after an auto-offer is generated.
Important Policy Note: Sinai Hospital has a strict separation policy. Travelers cannot work on an assignment for more than 365 days. To return to this facility as a traveler, a separation period of at least six months is required.
