About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical-Surgical unit in a fast-paced healthcare environment in New York, NY. This role is vital for delivering patient-centered care and ensuring high clinical standards within a high-acuity, team-based setting.
The Role
As a Med Surg Nurse, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient care from admission to discharge. Your day will involve performing comprehensive patient assessments, monitoring ongoing conditions, and administering medications and treatments per physician orders. You will play a key role in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), managing patient mobility, and monitoring vitals and pain levels to report any clinical changes immediately.
A significant part of your day will be dedicated to maintaining accurate documentation in EMR systems (such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech) and educating patients and their families on care plans and discharge instructions. Success in this position requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple patients effectively while adhering to strict infection control and safety protocols.
